Frequently Asked Questions

  • Financial advising is a service that helps individuals and businesses manage their finances and make informed decisions about their investments, taxes, retirement planning, and other financial matters.

  • A financial advisor can help you create a personalized financial plan, provide guidance on investment strategies, and help you navigate complex financial situations. They can also help you avoid costly mistakes and make the most of your money.

  • When choosing a financial advisor, it's important to look for someone who is qualified, experienced, and has a track record of success. You should also look for someone who is a good fit for your personality and communication style, and who shares your financial goals and values.

  • The terms financial advisor and financial planner are often used interchangeably, but there are some differences. Financial advisors typically focus on managing investments and providing financial advice, while financial planners may also provide broader financial planning services, such as retirement planning, tax planning, and estate planning. However, there is a lot of overlap between the two, and many advisors and planners offer similar services. Other interchangeable terms include Wealth Manager, Investment Advisor, Retirement Planner, etc. Mostly all these positions hold the exact same license(s), it’s all industry marketing creating the different labels. When it’s time to choose with whom you work, we recommend leaving labels on the sidelines and instead collaborate with a competent, trustworthy, and easy-going service provider whose offerings are of high-quality and ample breadth.

After more than a decade in the industry, we’ve observed there exists a “sweet spot” that allows for adequate attention to each client’s situation, a flexible enough schedule that offers convenience to the client, and a clear enough mind to make sound decisions on their behalf. In other words, we aim for quality over quantity.

  • We employ a multi-screened process geared towards the development and ongoing active management of your assets. Depending on your timeline and risk tolerance, each individual’s specific strategy may differ based on their needs. Generally speaking, we first utilize fundamental analysis to ensure the investments we choose are financially sound. Second, we observe cyclical trends within the global and U.S. economies, various industries, and markets themselves to choose more favorable areas in which to invest at any given time. For our third screen before investing your dollars, we utilize technical analysis to select entry and exit points at more favorable prices for your portfolio. At Holy City Prosperity, we typically are not 100% buy and hold for select clients. If a client prefers buy and hold, we set them up with investments that harmonize with that approach. Otherwise, some portion of your portfolio will be buy and hold, while the other portion will be more actively managed in order to reduce risk during downtrends by a combination of factors to include holding cash, asset allocation, and income-producing investments.

  • Once establishing an ongoing familiarity with your situation and financial landscape, we leave that up to your preference. Traditionally, people meet with their financial advisor once per year, quarter, etc. However, in today’s fast-paced world, we understand going out of your way for an hour long sit down meeting is not always the most convenient. We cultivate a very flexible operating style that caters to what works for you, whether it be in-person meetings, video teleconferencing, or multiple quick phone calls throughout the year. Rest assured, if we don’t hear from you within a given time, we’ll extend a courtesy call to ensure we are up-to-date on elements that may affect your strategy.

  • Typically, no. Most, if not all, of clients prefer discretionary trading accounts, meaning, there is no call with each trade.
